Prodigal is a cancelled adventure / action game that was in development at Pseudo Interactive in 2007 / 2008 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The player was going to became Noah Caglionosi, heir of a demon bloodline, whose mission was to kill his brothers and sisters demons, both on foot and while riding on his car. From the screenshots and concept arts preserved in the gallery below, it looks like we could have been able to freely explore Prodigal's world jumping on buildings and churches with Noah's psych powers (as it happens in inFamous and Prototype), to cling to flying demons ...
Divided City is a cancelled car combat game that was in development at Pseudo Interactive in 2007 / 2008, for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. After Full Auto 2, the team decided to create a new IP to build a different combat game on wheels, this time in a post apocalyptic scenario which involved a plot of "political unrest." The player would have been able to use various armored vehicles, to fight against huge combat tanks and other mechanical enemies. The team completed a playable demo of Divided City that looked really good, but sadly in April 2008 ...
Did you enjoy all those differences that can be noticed in the Super Mario World beta screenshots? Deadlight was a short lived game cocept dreamt up as an attempt to save Blue 52 in its final months. It was based upon the Stolen engine but designed specifically to take advantage of the unique, at that time, dynamically lit rendering engine for PS2. It was set on the SS Hyperion that the player mysteriously comes across after getting stranded at sea. The main mechanic of the game was that different coloured lights scared different creatures and that all creatures were scared by "deadlight". The aim was to use the streaming system such that the game would stream from disk and would ...

11 Jan 2010Nuclear Strike is a multi-directional shooter developed by Electronic Arts and released in 1997 for the PlayStation and PC. DCodes7 has noticed that there are some data files named “E3*” in the game’s disk, that are probably releated to a beta demo that could have been used in a past E3 to show Nuclear Strike to the press. Luckyly this beta demo can be freely played by typing the code “LIGHTNING” in.
The beta level is unfinished, the mission and its terrain is based off the second level of Nuclear Strike, but with lots of incomplete edits. More than half of the area is empty and has no live action FMV’s of its own. When completing all objectives you will hear a message saying “Thank you for flying strike air, we know that you have a choice of many games to play and we appreciate your time to play us.”
Also note that the “LIGHTNING” code for the beta level never appears in Nuclear Strikes campaign and the only way to know of its existence is to look up the code on the net. You can see this unfinished level in the videos below.
Thanks to DCodes7 for the contribution!

The game was announced in 2008, but in december 2009 Famitsu reported that the project will never be released. From Adria Sang’s blog we can read more about Hachi Koi’s “plot”
Players learn from the death god that they’re going to die on their next birthday, which happens to be one month away. There’s only one way to avoid this fate: fall in love and make someone fall in love with you.

10 Jan 2010Megaman X7 (Rockman X7 in Japan) came to the American PS2 in october of 2003, and brought with it some of the biggest changes the X series of Megaman games has seen. For the first time, players could control X and Zero in 3D worlds, as well as switching back to 2D at times. It also brought with it, a new face to the series, Axl, with the ability to completely transform into certain enemies.
Players could now switch between 2 characters of their choice in any given level, with the Intro stage, being the only exception, considering that for the first time ever, X, was an unlockable character, instead of being available right from the start. However, it seems this wasn’t always the case. Take a look at these beta videos and screenshots taken from before the game was released. Read the rest of this entry »

10 Jan 2010Update: thanks to Susumu and Matt we found out that this obscure RPG was really published in Japan with the name “Lagnacure” by a company called Artdink. You can find more screens of the released version at Snesorama!
Laguna Cool is a cancelled (?) RPG that was in development by Sony Music Entertainment in 1996/1997 for the original Playstation. The game was available at the Tokyo Game Show 1997 but we dont know if there was any playable demo or it was just a video. A single screenshot of this RPG was found by Celine in PSM magazine #3. There are pratically no info on the project, at least with the Laguna Cool title: could this game have been released with another name in Japan? If you recognize this screen, please let us know!
Thanks to Celine for the scan!
